A new £450,000 extension to one of the regions longest footpaths has begun. Gwynedd council has started work on the four mile stretch which will run between the villages of Aberdesach to Groeslon.
Once the path is complete it will enable walkers an cyclists to travel through communities including Bangor, Felinheli, Caernarfon and on to Bryncir or Llanaelhaearn.
Councillor Gareth Robers said; “This is an exciting project as it is yet another rlink in th network of community pathways stretching the length and breadth of Gwynedd”.
The new path links up Lon Eifion a cycle path which runs from Caernarfon to Bryncir passing through Groeslon and Lon Gogleddol Llyn which runs along side the new A499 between Aberdesch and Llanaelhaearn.
The work will be funded by £200,000 by the Welsh Government and £250,000 provided by the North Wales Transport Consortium.
