An event which always brings together the local community is the Porthmadog Craft Fair – a short journey away from West Point and the perfect opportunity for the artist inside all of us to enjoy a great day out.
The sleepy seaside port town of Porthmadog is quintessentially Welsh with so many people speaking the language and they are all famously friendly! Since it was built in 1811, Porthmadog has been a cultural centre for North Wales with many artists (such as T.E Lawrence of Lawrence of Arabia fame) being born within its historic surroundings.
This November, Porthmadog welcomes you to its brilliant craft fair which is all set to showcase local talent across a variety of different arts.
A monthly affair, the edition on the 30th is set to be as superb with works from all over the region available from the region. Not to be missed is the Snowdonian blue slate pottery which are all made by masters of the slate and with Snowdonia offering some of the highest quality material, these items could really catch the eye.
To dissuade that wintry windy bite, there will be plenty of lovingly-knitted scarves, gloves, hats and quilts to wrap up warm with. Looking for a unique Christmas gift for a loved one? There will be plenty of exemplary gifts including some Swarovski and Shamballa which will prove something great to unwrap on Christmas Day.
If you’re after a one-of-a-kind item for your kitchen, then the mugs and bowls on offer at the craft fair will really stand out in your home. Elsewhere, there’s some beautiful jewellery for you to splash on for a present or maybe you’d just like to treat yourself!
After arriving at 9.30p.m, you can enjoy some tasty snack and drinks as you explore with the family. With the whole event being free for all, there’s little reason to not journey to the historic Porthmadog and uncover some wonderful crafts this November.
