Roll out those lazy and crazy days of summer at West Point where you make the most of the weather, long summer evening and can indulge in some mellow sounds of Jazz at Tan-y-Bwlch after enjoying the beautiful train journey from Porthmadog.
Featuring some of the most talented jazz musicians in the area, including the popular Mr Jazz, these trains will run on August 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd. The special trains will be leaving Harbour Station, Porthmadog at 19:15 for an evening of music and entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Tan-y-Bwlch station, located close to West Point Beach Resort.
There will be plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of chances to enjoy some dancing out in the open air – surrounded by the natural beauty of Snowdonia’s wooded valleys. You’ll be able to relax with drinks from the licensed buffet bar and café, while listening to foot tapping live music which will be accompanied by freshly prepared hot foods!
For the seasoned Jazz Train passenger, the final session of each evening will feature the tradition Jazz Train favourites, with Jungle Book, Lawr ar Ian y Mor and When The Saints Go Marching In. Don’t forget to book early to avoid disappointment and an evening of outdoor entertainment with the Ffestiniog Railway, not far from West Point.
For those that wish to travel from Porthmadog Harbour Station to Tan-y-Bwlch in-first class carriages should book early, so don’t leave it until last minute to book a place on board the trains. The event is for Jazz Train passengers only and there is no public admission at Tan-y-Bwlch. Guests are urged not to bring their own food and drink as the event takes place in the cafe grounds which are licensed premises. These trains (all classes) normally sell out well before the departure date, so make sure you order your place now.
