It’s finally April, and hopefully, that means the weather is picking up. Now is the time that many are thinking about visiting their holiday homes in Snowdonia and we are lucky that here at West Point Holiday Park, there is always something to do. We thought we would draw together a few activities to give you some inspiration for your North Wales adventures.
A great and unusual day out is the Sygun Copper Mine, the perfect way to explore the industrial heritage of Wales. Ideally located in Snowdonia National Park, not only is this a great experience but you will also get to enjoy the spectacular views and scenery of the area which includes vast lakes and beautiful villages. Once you reach the copper mine, you can explore the fantastic tunnels and chambers with the option to listen to an audio presentation as you make your way through.
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, Greenwood Forest Park is another great day out. With a range of activities for adults and children alike, you can guarantee a day of laughter and fun. With 17 acres of stunning woodland, you can take a ride on the world’s only people-powered rollercoaster or pay a visit to the Little Forest Play Barn – there’s endless choice. If you need a refuel after, why not visit the Green Oak Cafe and indulge in the locally produced products?
Another great museum that is definitely worth a visit is The National Slate Museum which is perfect for learning about the local heritage. With lots of information about traditional Welsh crafts and skills, this free attraction is a great way to learn something new. A focal point is the ability to learn and listen to the stories of those who worked in the quarry which is said to be over 15,000 boys and men.
