‘Tis the season to be jolly!
Across the UK, we all seem to be either pulling tinsel from out of the loft, digging out our fancy plates for the never-ending stream of seasonal dinner guests, or picking out the perfect tree for the cats to pull down.
It’s hard to not feel a little bit of Christmas joy, though; plenty of fun, festive events are popping up everywhere across North Wales! Throughout November, December, and even a little bit of January, there will be a great assortment of seasonal activities to keep you and the family entertained for hours on end.
To help share some of our Christmas spirit, here we’ve listed just a handful of our favourite events throughout the whole of North Wales:
Enchanted Christmas – Greenwood Forest Park, Y Felinheli, Gwynedd.
If you’re intrigued by the idea of a 2-hour twilight adventure, set in one of the finest attractions in all of Wales, this one’s for you.
Enchanted Christmas offers you and the kids a chance to create your own gingerbread people, say hello to the elves and even pose for a picture with Ol’ St Nick himself.
Prices TBA
Christmas at Bodnant Garden – Bodnant Garden, Conwy Valley.
Do you want to pay a visit to the Elve’s workshop? Well, good news: every Saturday and Sunday from the 30th of November until the 22nd of December, the Elves will be opening up their magical workshop in Bodnant Garden.
Learn the way of the Elves and make some of your own very festive gifts. They’ve even made some of their favourite food for you to try: marshmallows by the fire!
There will also be some trails and walks that you can follow – why not pop into the garden centre, too? We’ve heard rumours that Santa himself will be there.
Food & Craft Festival – Portmeirion, Llŷn Peninsula.
Another annual event that just keeps growing! Portmeirion is a beautiful place, worth a visit at any time of the year. Why not take a trip during the run-up to Christmas to really experience the magic?
This year, there will be more than 120 exhibitors at the festival, giving you the chance to grab some fantastically unique gifts and some delicious local food.
There will also be seasonal entertainment, mulled wine (yum!) and much more to look forward to. Father Christmas will, of course, be making his very own special guest appearance!
Surf Snowdonia Christmas Market & Drive-In, Dolgarrog, Snowdonia.
One thing that we all love about Christmas is the movies! There’s nothing quite like sitting down with your family to enjoy a wholesome Christmas classic like Elf or the Grinch.
This year, visitors can benefit from a totally weatherproof indoor market! There will be plenty of amazing stalls for you to see and some incredibly tasty food to keep you satisfied – and best of all? It’s free! I guess we’ll see you there.
Santa Trains – Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, Snowdonia & Llyn Peninsul
Santa’s decided to ditch the reindeer to try out a more conventional way of getting around this year…
Hop on one of the many ‘Santa Trains’ running throughout December to experience this lovely little event – whilst we’re sure the kids will love it, don’t feel like you have to bring them; it’s perfect for us adults, too!
Trains will be departing from the new station in Caernarfon. What are you waiting for?
To top it all off, why not spend a cosy weekend in one of our many stunning holiday cottages across the picturesque landscape of North Wales?
We’ve got something to suit everyone: hot tubs, family-friendly getaways, romantic bolt-holes for two, and even some dog-friendly homes for you to escape to with your furry friend.
