Wakestock 2012 – Annual Wakeboarding Festival near West Point Holiday Park, Llyn Peninsula

Wakestock this year was sure to be a lively one, with massive stars Dizzie Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks and Calvin Harris taking to the stage. Unfortunately the festival was well and truly flooded on Friday, leaving a few lakes where there had previously been dry land. The rest of the weekend however was perfect and sunny, a big relief to all the Wakestockers who were there to enjoy the music and extreme sports in the welsh countryside. Wales coastal path opened May 5th 2012

The Wales Coastal Path officially opened on Saturday 5th May, the path covers 870 miles of coastline, offering stunning views for all to enjoy. The new path has been developed following the success of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail and the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. The initial plans were first revealed 6 years ago. The path has since been developed by the Welsh Government in conjunction with the Countryside Council for Wales, 16 local authorities and two national parks. New Footpath Cycle Path

A new £450,000 extension to one of the regions longest footpaths has begun.  Gwynedd council has started work on the four mile stretch which will run between the villages of Aberdesach to Groeslon. Once the path is complete it will enable walkers an cyclists to travel through communities including Bangor,  Felinheli, Caernarfon and on to Bryncir or Llanaelhaearn.
