Parc Glynllifon
A country park and historic garden where you can visit, be sure to bring the camera because it’s incredibly beautiful there are several water features and a couple of modern sculpture tails and also some locally run treasure hunts and orienteering courses. As you can tell, there are so many fantastic things for you to do. There is also a gift shop selling high quality locally crafted goods. What’s more, dogs are welcome so long as they are kept on a lead and you don’t leave their mess all over the place. As long as you are mindful of your rubbish you can also have a good old fashioned picnic too. The entire park is wheelchair and pushchair friendly so everyone from great grandad to great-grandchildren can come for the day out.
Inigo Jones Slateworks
A visit to Inigo Jones Tudor Slate Works includes a self-guided tour and is educational and fun for the whole family. There is also an introductory video presentation which fills you in on what’s going on at the slate works and the history of the premises. After this, you are free to explore the workshops at your own pace and view the machines and craftspeople in action – a taped commentary is provided. There are also exhibitions in geology, history, calligraphy, and letter cutting. Try out some of these amazing crafts for yourself.
Dinas Dinlle Beach
This amazing beach features unrivalled views of the Llyn peninsula with its iconic landscape reaching out into the ocean. While it’s a stony beach at high tide, if you go at low tide, a large sandy beach is revealed which is perfect for playing in the ocean or exploring with a pooch. There is a cafe here and ample car parking. Maybe you’d prefer a more adventurous surf beach in North Wales instead. Did you know that the nearby village of Pontllyfni had a meteorite land in it?
Caernarfon Airport
This may or may not be an activity you have ever considered, but pleasure flights are an unbelievable day out. You can book yourself a sightseeing trip to take in the stunning Snowdonia views via a plane or a helicopter, and enjoy a guided tour of the area too. When it comes to more adventurous members of the team, you could even have a go of aeroplane trial sessions. The airport is also home to an on-site aviation museum and cafe.
Gypsy Wood Park
This is a magical day out for visitors of all ages which all the family will love. There aren’t many places where you could combine the magic of the Welsh fairies and the charm of animals and the rugged wilderness of 20 acres of beautiful natural woodland, but at Gypsy Wood Park – that’s what they do, which is why it’s an ideal location for days out.
There is also an onsite cafe and shop that provides refreshments, drinks, and hot & cold snacks. You are welcome to bring your picnic with you to eat at one of the designated picnic areas.
