Free Rein – Netflix
This family-friendly equestrian teen series features American teenagers coming to work at a stable on a scenic island off the coast of Britain. You can see many panoramic shots located on the isle of Anglesey ! Views of the ocean and Snowdonia National park from a distance are outstanding to witness.

Dragonslayer – Paramount Pictures
This classic 80s swords and sorcery movie is about a boy venturing out to slay a wicked dragon and a tyrannical king. The entrance to the dragon’s cave is on top of Glyder Fawr.

Clash of the Titans (2010) – MGM
This awesome movie starring Sam Worthington has a scene filmed at Dinorwig quarry, where gigantic scorpions are moving up and down the old slopes. It’s very surreal to see it in the flesh! The quarry was used as the entrance to the Medusa’s lair.

The Prisoner – MGM
This seminal series was filmed in the scenic Italianate village of Portmeirion. The village is largely famous for this, and also is the namesake of Festival Number 6 which took place here and is named after the protagonist of the series.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword
This Guy Richy sword and no-nonsense medieval fantasy is set in Medieval Britain in the ruins of the Roman empire. During the reign of the tyrannical allegorical king Vortigern, played by Judge Law, King Arthur’s story is told,played by Charlie Hunman.

Wonder Woman 1984
Gal Gadot’s Wonderwoman returns for her second standalone outing. In the film, we can see Wonderwoman as a child running and training in the mystical island of Themyscira, here portrayed by Swallow Falls.

Highlander
Possibly one of the most famous movies of all time, with an amazing soundtrack by Queen, and a memorable performance by Sean Connery. This timeless epic’s final scene is shot in the Sychnant pass in Conwy!

Lara Croft Tomb Raider : Cradle of Life
Angelina Jolie’s video game adaptation saw the lakeside of Llyn Gwynant in Snowdonia transformed into a Chinese fishing village – and it works incredibly well.

Snowdonia’s majestic landscape is used here to represent the wild mountains of Kazakhstan while the Cwm Dyli was used as the exterior of the plot central oil pipeline

The Crown
Season 3 of the global phenomenon saw King Charles invest Prince of Wales, the whole sequence was shot in the royal town of Caernarfon where the ceremony took place in 1969.

Willow
Warrick Davies and Val Kilmer star as the titular Willow and mercenary Madmartigan. This epic movie’s Nomor Castle’s filming location was in Snowdonia.

The Legend of Tarzan
The legendary tale of Tarzan is told again with Alexander Skarsgaard starring. There are sections filmed at Dinorwig Quarry in the heart of Snowdonia.
