The views from inside and outside are stunning: You can see Snowdonia or across to Anglesey.. 3) Explore Bardsey Island
Bardsey Island is an island located off The Llyn Peninsula off the west coast of Wales. An ancient place, Bardsey was once one of Britain’s most important religious centres. The ruins of three stone churches still stand on its 10 square miles, while some believe that many of its remote pastures are dotted with ancient field systems and primitive hillforts. Although it is wild and rural, Bardsey Island has become very popular with day-trippers since it became accessible by ferry during the summer months. Whether you want to explore its history or picnic by one of its many small sandy beaches, Bardsey is definitely worth adding to your list of places to go in Snowdonia and on the Llyn Peninsula. It is also said to be a possible location of the Arthurian Legendary Isle of Avalon.
4) Take a Wild Swim at Dinas Dinlle Beach
If you’re going to visit North Wales, be sure to check out Dinas Dinlle beach, which is located just outside of Caernarfon. It’s well known as one of the area’s best wild swimming spots – just look at those views! Be careful about the tide which can catch some unsuspecting swimmers out however, safety first. Low tide reveals a gorgeous sandy beach – great for a long walk.
5) Walk in Beddgelert Forest
Beddgelert Forest is a stunning natural reserve and one of Snowdonia’s most beautiful forests. Settle down on an afternoon hike and relax with an open view of several mountains of Snowdonia. With trails that run through valleys and over hills, there’s no shortage of opportunities to enjoy nature up close. Some paths are rocky, some are smooth; don’t forget your hiking boots! Beddgelert Forest is perfect for beginning hikers who want to get acquainted with walking through woodland and hill terrain.
